Richard
and Phyllis Michell started the American Revival
Company in 1974 on John Steinbeck's famous
Cannery Row. A few years later, Richard Michell,
Jr., joined the firm. And so it goes that the
store became a landmark Monterey family business.

For the past thirty years, The American Revival
Company has stressed honesty and integrity. They
have provided a joyous experience, a "visual
overload" for thousands of visitors from all
over the world. According to our international
customers, the store is one of the most unique in
the world.
The
retail store is about 1000 square feet, crammed
with souvenirs, antiques, and delightful
collectibles, proving the point that dynamite
(and fun) often comes in small packages.
